Osiris – your watcher
What does Osiris do?
Osiris regularly checks the web on a topic for you – for example news from your industry or what your competitors are doing – and reports what is new. Every report has a source and date. You find Osiris in the left bar, in the side panel next to the chat, or with “Open Osiris”.
Osiris never posts or pays anything and writes to no one. The only thing it sends, if you want, is an email to you (see below).
Setting up a watch
Tell your companion for example:
- “Keep me posted on logistics news.”
- “Watch my competitors Kranich GmbH and Falke AG.”
- “Keep an eye on electricity prices.”
Your companion then suggests a watch: daily at 8 am (in your time zone) and at most $0.20 a day. Only when you click “Watch like this” is it set up. If the topic is unclear, it asks. On the Osiris page you can also use “New watch” and set the time and daily limit yourself.
Costs and daily limit
For the search Osiris uses your Anthropic key (Settings › AI access). Without a key it does not search and tells you so.
- One look costs about $0.09 to $0.11 (measured; the AI reads the search results, plus at most three searches at $0.01). It is booked like all costs and shown as “today … of …” on the watch.
- The daily limit is the cap per day. Osiris checks it before each look and assumes $0.12; if no look fits any more, it waits until tomorrow. That is why the smallest limit is $0.12 – and with the default of $0.20 Osiris looks once a day.
- Amounts are in US dollars, as the AI providers bill.
Reports: source, date, nothing twice
- Each look makes at most three searches. Reports without a source or date, mere overview pages or anything older than 45 days are dropped.
- The same news from several sources becomes one report with several sources. What was already reported does not come again.
- Below each watch you see what the last look found, e.g. “1 new report, 1 already known …”.
- Every report also becomes a note in the Second Brain (folder “Osiris”) and is linked to matching companies, people or projects.
- “Mark as read” ticks a report off; the filter at the top shows one watch only.
Important news, email, pausing
- If something is important (e.g. takeover, insolvency, price increase), you get a notice in the bell. The God's Eye tile “Osiris reports” shows the three most important ones.
- Under Settings › General you can switch on “Email when Osiris finds something important” (default: off). You then get at most one summary email per look – to you, to no one else.
- Check now starts a look right away; the regular time stays.
- Pause, Resume and Delete are on every watch. Deleted watches keep their reports.
- If a look fails twice in a row, Osiris stops the watch and lets you know.
