Second Brain and notes
What is in the Second Brain?
Under Second Brain on the left you find everything your companion remembers – your second memory, shown as a map of glowing points. Notes and Documents at the top lead to the lists, with three tabs: Notes (everything remembered and your own notes, with search and a filter by type), Knowledge map (the same map as in the Second Brain) and Documents (uploaded files). Private and Business keep separate knowledge – the map only shows the area you are in.
The map: points and lines
Each point is something Genie knows: notes, people, companies, decisions, projects, Atelier rooms, chats, documents, workflows and reports from Osiris – plus always your companion and your profile. The colour shows the kind (see the legend), the size how important a point is: many connections and recently used = bigger. Lines show what belongs together.
- Drag to turn and move, scroll or use two fingers to zoom.
- Clicking a point opens it in the same panel – a note to read (with “Edit”), a project, room or chat as a short card with a link.
- Switch between 2D and 3D at the top. The map starts in 2D; if you pick 3D, your browser remembers it. If a device cannot show 3D, it stays in 2D and says so.
- Search and filters by kind, project and time help with many points. Points from the last 24 hours glow briefly when the map opens.
What is glowing?
While your companion answers, the points it actually used light up – for example the notes it found, your profile or the chat's project. Small pulses of light run along the lines for about six seconds, then the map calms down. Below the answer it says “Used:” with the same points; click one to see it on the map. This stays traceable after reloading.
If nothing glows, your companion did not need anything from your memory for this answer. Sensitive notes appear as a point but are never sent to a model – so they never glow.
Writing and linking notes
“New note” creates a note with title, text and optionally a folder (e.g. “Customers/Meier”) and tags; “Preview” shows how it looks. Write [[Title]] to link to another note – if it does not exist yet, the link appears as soon as you create it. Each note shows “Linked from” at the bottom. Editing changes the note in place; origin and history stay visible.
Remembering in conversation
- Say or type “Remember that …” – your companion creates a note right away and confirms it in one sentence.
- “What do I know about …?” reads out the matching notes.
- “Link this to …” links the last remembered note to another one.
- If something sounds like a decision (“From now on …”), your companion asks “Shall I remember this?”.
- In the Atelier, “Save result to knowledge” keeps a result.
When you later ask about something in your notes, your companion uses them and links the note. Notes marked sensitive are never passed to a model.
My profile
Second Brain › Notes › My profile shows what your companion knows about you and your business. It uses this in every conversation; you can change everything.
Obsidian
“Export as Obsidian vault” downloads all notes as a ZIP of Markdown files with folders and [[links]]. “Import Obsidian vault (ZIP)” reads a vault (at most 2,000 notes and 20 MB); links are kept.
